CANNED FRUIT & VEGETABLES
It can actually be remarkably hard to find canned products without any additives (even "citric acid" can be a way to include hidden msg in products). If you look carefully you should be able to find some. However, if you're also worried about the safety of can linings such as BPA, it might be best to avoid cans entirely, in which case choose frozen fruit and vegetables (carefully - see here), and use dried beans (ideally organic). This can actually be fairly convenient if you have the right equipment (we use our Instant Pot for this purpose). Here are some Before Natural canned fruit and vegetable products that we trust.
Eden Foods Canned Beans
Ingredients: ORGANIC BEANS, KOMBU SEAWEED.
It can be surprisingly hard to find canned beans that do not contain unexpected additives or hidden MSG, let alone in cans that are BPA-free. Eden Foods canned beans contain only organic beans and kombu seaweed. Kombu renders beans more digestible and less gas-producing, while also adding nutrients and enhancing the flavor! If you look carefully you should be able to find other brands of canned beans that do not contain additives, but many of them do!
Native Forest Organic Mandarins
Ingredients: ORGANIC MANDARIN ORANGES, ORGANIC MANDARIN ORANGE JUICE
These mandarin orange slices are delicious - exactly how I remember them from when I was a kid (although I'm sure those ones were packed in sugar syrup, not juice!) The can is BPA free. Great healthy dessert for kids especially!
